Irish actress Ruth Negga, best known to genre fans from her role as Nikki in E4’s Community Service superhero series MISFITS, has joined the cast of ABC’s forthcoming, much-anticipated AVENGERS spin-off series AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. According to Deadline, the actress will feature in “multiple episodes” of the upcoming action series, which debuts this month.

The actress’ other credits include episodic British TV such as DOCTORS, SECRET STATE and LOVE/HATE and she more recently appeared as a World Health organisation Doctor in the big screen blockbuster WORLD WAR Z.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. airs on ABC in America on 24th September before arriving on C4 in the UK on the 27th.
