In some casting news, it’s been confirmed that Patrick Brennan will be playing Marvel’s supervillain Blackout in AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Brennan is best known for appearing in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2.

On the news, the actor said, “This is the way they explained it to me. This guy, Marcus Daniels, aka Blackout, was shrouded in darkness, his soul, everything about him was shrouded in darkness until he comes across this cello player. And the music was the only light that came into his soul, and it gave him hope and it gave him some sense of what light was. I thought to myself, oh god, you don’t even need to explain anything else. Because music, to me, is what gets me through most of the time. My kids, my wife, and music. That aspect of it totally intrigued me. I thought that was quite beautiful and very interesting, that aspect of the character.”

As for the cello player, that’s been recently confirmed as Amy Acker’s Audrey, who also has ties to Agent Coulson. Brennan’s Marcus Daniel will debut in the episode that airs on 15th April in the US, with UK audiences to get the character’s first appearance a few weeks later. Marvel.com have also released the below image of Brennan as Daniels.

Brennan joins a cast that involves Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda Way, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward/Butch Whoppercock, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
