Horror historian, author, accomplished thespian, and co-creator of the hit television series Sherlock, Mark Gatiss, will soon be embroiling himself in the political machinations and intrigue of Westeros.

Gatiss, whose role is currently being kept a secret, will join the ensemble cast in the next season of Game of Thrones. Whatever the part may be Gatiss is sure to handle it with aplomb, as he has proven to be a versatile and accomplished actor. Gatiss is probably best known for being one quarter of The League of Gentlemen, portraying several of the darkly comedic characters that inhabited the fictional town of Royston Vasey.

Since then he has played a multitude of roles including Carver in H.G Well’s The First Men in the Moon, John Dashwood in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, The Curator in Crooked House, as well as a couple of appearances in Doctor Who. His velvety tones can also be heard introducing 4 Extra’s supernatural series The Man in Black as… The Man in Black!
