It’s the end of the world as we know it… again. Despite the lukewarm response to his recent Alcatraz series (no word yet on whether it’s been renewed for a second season but the smart money says it’s unlikely), NBC have just greenlit a new series from JJ Abrams, working this time with Eric Kripke (Supernatural).

Revolution is set in the near future where all forms of energy have mysteriously disappeared – I know how that feels – and a disparate group of stereotypes… sorry, people struggle to survive and reunite with missing loved ones. Jon Favreau (Cowboys and Aliens, Iron Man… er… Iron Man 2) has directed the pilot episode and the cast includes Billy Burke (Twilight), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, one of the world’s best TV shows – fact), Andrea Roth (Ringernot one of the world’s best TV shows), Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human USA), Graham Rogers and Anna Lise Phillips. No, I don’t know who they are either…

Revolution will air on NBC later in the year and will probably turn up somewhere or other in the UK months later.
