Jessica Jones News

With the earlier news that Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive DAREDEVIL has a writer in the form of Drew Goddard, Deadline now has word that the JESSICA JONES show now has Melissa Rosenberg on board as a writer. Rosenberg was actually on board a similar J.J. project back in 2010, but that fell apart. JESSICA JONES is expected to be the second Marvel/Netflix show to appear after DAREDEVIL.

In terms of the character of Jones, she first appeared in 2001’s ALIAS title, where she’s depicted as a former member of The Avengers who left the team behind in order to run Alias Private Investigations. The title would only last for 28 issues, but the character has since featured regularly in the greater Marvel comic book realm.

Jessica Jones joins Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron First in all getting their individual, intertwining shows, which will all build to a crossover in THE DEFENDERS. Each of these four individual shows have been given a thirteen-episode series at present.

Expect to be hearing a lot more on these Marvel/Netflix projects over the next few weeks, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we got further details on writers for the Luke Cage and Iron Fist shows shortly.
