Netflix were clearly thrilled with the viewing figures of the Eli Roth produced supernatural series HEMLOCK GROVE (though were no doubt less chuffed with some of its reviews), and have announced that they’re putting a second series into production asap. Season Two will expand on Brian McGreevy’s book source and run for a slightly truncated ten episodes. Charles H. Eglee, a veteran of THE WALKING DEAD and DEXTER, will join the series as executive producer. Here’s what Eli Roth had to say about the decision:

“The worldwide fan response to ‘Hemlock Grove’ was phenomenal. Netflix members loved the potent combination of sexy monsters, mystery, and the dark family soap opera that ended with a huge twist, leaving audiences worldwide totally shocked. Season One was just a warm up for what we have in store for season two. Get ready to be scared in ways you never expected.

Expect HEMLOCK GROVE Season Two to premiere on Netflix in 2014.
