HBO, it seems, can’t put a foot wrong, as they continue to produce quality TV, tantalising millions and making a pretty penny in the process. HBO have now signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Prime, bringing a roster of quality programming to the streaming service. The first batch of HBO programmes goes live on May 21st, including complete series of stone cold modern classics like The Sporanos, The Wire, Six Feet Under and a variety of mini-series including Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

Streaming classics is all well and good, but people want it all and they want it now. HBO’s press release has confirmed that seasons of its current successes like Girls and Veep will be made available 3 years after airing. True Blood and Boardwalk Empire, having been on the air longer, will have their earlier series available for streaming.

Game of Thrones, for many, is the quintessential HBO show, so it’s strange to note that the fantasy epic didn’t get a single mention. It may just be a simple case of keeping it for themselves and who would blame them.
