They said that Barry Allen would be getting a ‘proper’ outfit in The CW’s THE FLASH, and it appears that they are sticking to their word as the first official image of Grant Gustin in the Scarlet Speedster getup has been revealed. The suit has been designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, who just so happened to have designed Oliver Queen’s hooded attire in ARROW.

In TV world, Gustin’s Barry Allen was last seen in ARROW’s mid-season finale having a little accident of sorts; an accident that will give him the power of super speed. Barry will return later this year in his own show, which is moving along nicely.

As well as Gustin as Barry Allen, the show has also recently cast Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs CEO Harrison Wells, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Rick Gosnett as Eddie Thawne/Professor Zoom and former Flash John Wesley Shipp in a currently unspecified role.

Developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, the pilot, directed by David Nutter, will being production next week.
