Following the release earlier in the week of the ‘movie-style’ posters for three forthcoming episodes in the current Doctor Who series - ‘Journey To The Centre of the TARDIS’, ‘The Crimson Horror’ and ‘Nightmare in Silver’ - the BBC have now revealed the poster for the season finale which confirms that the title for the episode, due to be screened on May 18th will be ‘The Name of the Doctor’. The poster also confirms that, as suspected, Alex Kingston will be returning to her iconic role as Professor River Song, the Doctor’s on/off ‘wife’ and time-travelling sparring partner. The episode is written by show runner Steven Moffat and directed by Saul Metzstein (‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’, ‘A Town Called Mercy’, ‘The Snowmen’, ‘The Crimson Horror’). There’s also an official synopsis:
“Someone is kidnapping the Doctor's friends, leading him towards the one place in all of time and space that he should never go."
