Weeks after the formal announcement of BBC One’s new Saturday night family adventure series Atlantis, which replaces the long-running and hugely-popular Merlin in the teatime schedules, comes news of the starry cast now attached to this ambitious new project. The thirteen-part series, due to air this Autumn, will star Mark Addy (Game of Thrones, Trollied, The Syndiate), Sarah Parrish (Mistresses, Cutting It, Doctor Who), Juliet Stevenson (The Hour, The Village), Jemima Rooper (Hex, Lost in Austen), Robert Emms (War Horse) and Jack Donnelly (Dancing on the Edge, Misfits). The series will bring to life classic Greek myths and legends with a decent smattering of giants, monsters and Gods. Atlantis is created by Howard (Misfits) Overman and produced by Merlin’s Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy. The series is due to start filming in April at a custom-built studio complex in Chepstow in South Wales and on location in Morocco.
