Deadline has word that The CW’s THE FLASH has cast Barry Allen’s mother, Nora. Landing the gig is EMILY OWENS, M.D.’s Michelle Harrison.

Now, those who saw Grant Gustin’s Barry appear in ARROW will know that his mother is dead, with his father falsely imprisoned for her murder. So, does that mean that Nora will appear in flashback form? Could it be that the start of THE FLASH’s pilot takes place before the events of ARROW? I guess we’ll have to wait and see for now.

Harrison joins Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash, Rick Gosnett as Eddie Thawne/Professor Zoom, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Tam Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West and former live-action Flash John Wesley Shipp in an unspecified role.

Developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, THE FLASH’s pilot, directed by David Nutter, is expected to hit screens towards the middle of the year.
