The small screen BARBARELLA reimagining, which we first reported on way back in June 2012, might have finally found a home. According to Deadline, makers Gaumont International Television has done a deal with Amazon Studios, who will air the potential series (it’s still only at pilot stage lest we get too ahead of ourselves) through their streaming services.

Behind the scenes little has changed since we last updated on the project, with SKYFALL writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade still on scripting duties and DRIVE’s Nicolas Winding Refn as producer. No further details have been released, but with Gaumont International Television enjoying recent success with the likes of HANNIBAL and HEMLOCK GROVE, we expect they’ll be even more momentum with BARBARELLA soon.

But while we wait for an official announcement, let’s discuss who you’d like to see inherit the iconic role. Ideas below please!
