ARROW News

Screen Crush is reporting that yet another familiar DC face will be appearing in the upcoming season of The CW’s ARROW. Long-time Justice League villain Professor Ivo will appear in some of Oliver Queen’s island flashback scenes, with DAWSON’S CREEK’s Dylan Neal cast in the role. The show will see the character referred to as Dr. Anthony Ivo, and he will make his debut in the first episode of Season 2. Ivo is set to have a four-episode arc, with further appearances a possibility. The character is being officially described as “a brutal but ruthless scientist who will stop at nothing to unearth a breakthrough that dates back to the latter days of World War II.”

As mentioned, the comic-book version of the character is mainly a Justice League villain, with him also being responsible for the creation of the ridiculously powerful Amazo robot. Ivo is not the only DC villain set to appear in the upcoming season of ARROW, with Michael Jai White’s Bronze Tiger now confirmed as debuting in the second episode of the season. Yes, the official synopsis of episode 2 has now been released. It reads as follows:

“Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out the medicine that is being sent to Glades memorial is being hijacked by thieves. Without an influx of supplies, the hospital will close. Roy (Colton Haynes) attempts to stop the thieves, but he fails and is arrested by Officer Lance (Paul Blackthorne). Oliver gets into a heated battle with China White (guest star Kelly Hu) and her new partner, Ben Turner, aka the Bronze Tiger (guest star Michael Jai White), over the supplies. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes plans to catch the Arrow, and Thea (Willa Holland) gives Roy an ultimatum. Nick Copus directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski and Beth Schwartz.”

As well as the additions of Professor Ivo and Bronze Tiger, the upcoming season is also set to introduce us to Black Canary (Caity Lotz), Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus), Sebastian Blood (Kevin Alejandro), Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), and the mother-fudging’ Flash (Grant Gustin).

Season 2 of ARROW premieres in the US on 9th October, with the UK airing of the show expected to follow a few days later. Be sure to check back to Starburst for reviews of the new episodes as they air.
