Just like that old gypsy woman said, animated action comedy Archer has been renewed for another two seasons. Airing on FX, Fox’s cable TV branch, seasons 6 and 7 will both contain 13 episodes and keep the show on the air until at least 2016. Eric Schrier, FX’s President of Original Programming, stated that “Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX Comedy brand.”

Season 5 is currently airing in the US and has radically altered the format, ditching the espionage premise and mash up of anachronisms and instead reworking it into a crime saga dubbed Archer Vice. Its UK air date is yet to be confirmed, but in the meantime, click here to watch a great trailer for the new season, an Archerised version of the Top Gun sequences from the Danger Zone music video. Because where else are you going to see Krieger playing Kenny Loggins?
