Amiable Stephen Amell, star of CW’s Arrow, has let loose his thoughts on the show’s version of The Flash. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the Scarlet Speedster’s second season debut, Amell said, ” he’s a little naive and his level of enthusiasm and his penchant for problem-solving is something we’ve seen on the show with Felicity.” Amell added that Barry and Felicity, upon meeting, immediately discover that they’re kindred spirits. “Their characters are incredibly similar and, as a result, have an instantaneous chemistry with one another and fondness for one another.”

Glee’s Grant Gustin won the race against several strong contenders for the coveted part of The Flash and as a comic book fan he’s “excited” about his new role. “I got an audition and I was really excited and a little sceptical at first, because I’m a comic book fan,” he said. “I know the character and know I’m a little young I’m a little fanboy – I’m so excited to be a part of the show.”

Arrow season two premieres Monday 21st October on Sky1 with a double-bill. Read our review of Episode 1 here.
