Goldtiger is the best 1960s comic strip that you’ve never heard of, for the very simple reason that it doesn’t exist yet.

It’s actually a Kickstarter project brought to you by novelist Guy Adams (interviewed by this very writer in issue 380, available here) and comic book artist Jimmy Broxton. They’re trying to raise £12,000 to produce a limited-edition making-of book for a fictional 1960s strip about a fashion house called Goldtiger. It comes in two flavours, the Standard edition and the Treasury edition, which contains the book as well as other goodies like a CD and nicer packaging.

From their Kickstarter page: “GOLDTIGER NEVER REALLY EXISTED AT ALL DID IT?

Well. If it didn’t before, it certainly does now. This first volume of collected strips is a lavish affair, combining the full début adventure with ‘behind the scenes’ material: letters, scripts, interviews, sketches… all documenting the creation of the strip and the outlandish lives of its creators.”

At the time of writing, there are 29 days to go. Hopefully some of you will be tempted to invest in what looks to be a great project.
