Ever wondered just how 2000AD came to be? In case you weren’t aware, Paul Goodwin has put together a rather impressive-looking documentary by the name of FUTURE SHOCK! THE STORY OF 2000AD. Due for release at the end of this month, the feature has dropped a new trailer to tease you further with its charms.
In terms of on-screen appearances, Goodwin has managed to get names like Dan Abnett, Emma Beeby, Karen Berger, Lauren Beukes, Brian Bolland, D’Israeli, Andy Diggle, Carlos Ezquerra, Neil Gaiman, Dave Gibbons, Cam Kennedy, Grant Morrison, Pat Mills, Bryan Talbot, and Steve Yeowell involved.
The official word on the feature reads:
The comprehensive story of how the comic came to be, how it’s survived for 36 years, and how it continues to be an innovator and game-changer in both comics and the wider cultural world beyond. FUTURE SHOCK! offers an illuminating overview of the magazine’s history: a warts and all look at the various highs and lows, a peek inside the creative process of some of its most legendary creators, and a funny, moving and passionate chronicle of how a disparate band of talented eccentrics came together to create something both visionary and extraordinary.
FUTURE SHOCK! THE STORY OF 2000AD is released on October 28th.
