With an Uncharted movie having long been in development, the video game adaptation has moved to bring in its first cast member: Tom Holland.

As per Deadline, the latest cinematic incarnation of Spider-Man will be playing the role of young Nathan Drake in the film. Drake, of course, is the hero at the centre of the Uncharted game series. At this stage, it’s believed that the movie will be a prequel to the video game series, pulling inspiration from the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception sequence in which young Drake first meets his treasure-hunting partner-in-crime Victor Sullivan.

At present, a new writer is being searched for to work on the screenplay, with a whole host of names having been involved with the story and script over the past few years. Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy is currently attached to direct.
