If Ladbrokes had any sense, they would capitalise in the drama and politics of Marvel and DC casting. In the wild west of the casting room, Tom Hardy is being eyed for a role in X-MEN: AGE OF APOCALYPSE.

According to The Wrap, the versatile actor is being wooed for the titular role in Bryan Singer’s upcoming superhero flick. Following Hardy’s disappointing spell as Bane in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, it’s about time he redeemed himself, and it’s this writer’s belief he’d be a great fit for the part. As well as X-MEN, Hardy is also being considered for DC’s SUICIDE SQUAD, with Deadline reporting that the actor is ‘close to signing on.’

Both movies are currently expected for a 2016 release, although whether or not Hardy will be able to take both on remains to be seen. As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
