In some great news, Toby Jones has landed a key role in the upcoming fourth season of the BBC’s Sherlock.

It’s been announced that the talented Jones, who will be familiar to genre fans for playing Arnim Zola in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Captain Mainwaring in the big screen Dad’s Army, not to mention popping up in an episode of Doctor Who, will be playing a major villain in Sherlock.

On the news, Jones said, “I’m excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in Sherlock.” Interestingly, Steven Moffat added that the show was “delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains.”

So, the immediate question is just which villainous no-good sort will the fantastic Toby Jones get the chance to sink his teeth into.

Sherlock’s fourth season began filming today, and the upcoming episodes will see Benedict Cumberbatch’s Holmes back on UK soil as Martin Freeman’s Watson and Amanda Abbington’s Mary get ready for parenthood.
