Remember those rumblings of a live-action Teen Titans TV show a few years back? No? Well, it was certainly a ‘thing’. In fact, 2014 saw TNT looking to move forward with the series. Sadly, the show is now seemingly a no-go.

Speaking at the network’s TCA presentation, TNT President Kevin Reilly simply stated “We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go” when asked about the Titans show. So that’s that then: the series is dead in the water as far as TNT is concerned.

Of course, this isn’t to say that a live-action Teen Titans show won’t happen full stop, for another network could take a chance on it. There’s already a pilot episode written, with Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes having penned the first episode’s script. The initial plan called for the pilot to shoot last year, although obviously that never happened.

The last we heard on the project, the planned line-up for the Titans team was Dick Grayson (who would start as Robin before transitioning to Nightwing), a wheelchair-bound Barbara Gordon, Raven, Starfire, and the Hank Hall and Dawn Granger versions of Hawk and Dove. For many, the biggest excitement surrounding the show was that long-time fan favourite Dick Grayson could get some time to shine on the small screen.

Like we said, the pilot could find another home at some point, although for now Teen Titans is dead before it even got going.
