With Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII hitting cinemas at the end of this year, the film has finally seen its official title and logo revealed.

From here on out, as per The Hollywood Reporter, the follow-up to The Force Awakens will be titled Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Picking up immediately after JJ Abrams’ 2015 movie, The Last Jedi will see the return of Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, and Carrie Fisher, who had finished her work on the movie before her sad passing last month. These returning faces will be joined by franchise newcomers Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

There’s no major plot points known on the film at this stage, but obviously The Force Awakens gives us a good idea of where things will be heading. What we do know, however, is that Del Toro’s role will be that of one of the film’s villains.

At present, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set for a December 15th release. Be sure to take to the comments section to let us know your thoughts on this sure-to-be-opinion-splitting new title for our next trip to a galaxy far, far away…
