With just four weeks to go until the Big Day (ie the screening of the Christmas Special, what else??), the BBC have finally announced the title of this year’s festive episode of DOCTOR WHO.

Written by showrunner Steven Moffat, the episode, starring Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, Jenna Coleman as Clara and Nick Frost as “Santa Claus”, is now confirmed as entitled ‘Last Christmas’. The BBC’s Christmas TV Press release says of the episode, “The Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus!” 

Also featuring in the cast are Michael Troughton, Natalie Gumede, Nathan McMullen and Dan (Strax) Starkey. A new promotional image for the episode has also been released (as shown in full below) and a UK transmission time has yet to be confirmed.
