As the live-action Teen Titans series continues to flesh out its cast, the fan favourite Beast Boy has been brought in to the fold.
Officially announced by DC Entertainment, Titans has brought in Ryan Potter to play the much-loved Gar Logan character. Potter is likely best known to genre fans for providing the voice of Hiro in Big Hero 6 and the upcoming Big Hero 6 TV series.
For those unfamiliar with Beast Boy, the show’s official blurb on him reads: “As a child, Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.”
Already on board for Titans are Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach, and Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as the Hawk and Dove duo.
The early synopsis on the series reads:
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.
Titans will premiere next year on Warner Brothers’ new on-demand streaming service.
