Tin Man Games, the company who are responsible for bringing classic Fighting Fantasy games to the Smartphone generation have announced their latest nostalgia-fuelled adaptation, coming out the end of August.

Based on the popular fan-favourite Fighting Fantasy book, APPOINTMENT WITH F.E.A.R. allows you to take the role of a classic comic-book hero. In a departure from their previous apps, this new game will resemble a digital comic book, rather than the more familiar book-style interface.

Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: “This is our first foray into a new area for interactive fiction and gamebooks. APPOINTMENT WITH F.E.A.R. cried out to be presented in a new and stylised way and as the new engine started coming together visually, we knew we were on to something pretty special.”

The interactive novel allows for more character customisation than the 1985 gamebook that it is based on. It will also feature a trading card facility. The cards are discovered through play and can be exchanged with other players via social media.

APPOINTMENT WITH F.E.A.R. will be released at the end of August on the iOS App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. A desktop edition for PC, Mac and Linux will also be released via the Humble Store, which also comes with an Android version.
