It’s certainly not a trap, as Sci-Fi Scarborough 2017 has announced their latest guest – actor Tim Rose, who played Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi.

The American star began his career working with Jim Henson on Sesame Street, and as well as his most famous role as the Mon Calamari Rebellion Admiral has appeared in The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Return to Oz, and Doctor Who.

Tim will be appearing at Sci-Fi Scarborough all weekend, taking part in a creator panel on the Saturday and will be joining Garrick Hagon (Biggs) on the Sunday for some Star Wars-related events. As well as Ackbar, Rose was a puppeteer on the films, handling Salacious Crumb and Sy Snootles in Return of the Jedi. He returned to a galaxy far, far away in The Force Awakens and will appear in the upcoming Episode VIII.

The event runs from 10am-6pm on Saturday, April 8th with the geek pub quiz, party and live music from 6.30pm till late, and 10am-6pm on Sunday, April 9th.

Day tickets are £15 (under 12s £5 Students £10) Weekend £25, and under 5’s go free.
