Tickets are still available for the Celluloid Screams Classic All-Nighter on Saturday, October 24th. Sheffield’s horror film festival, Celluloid Screams, is showing four ‘80s classics back-to-back (with a selection of shorts in between) in a ‘shock around the clock’ extravaganza.

Kicking off at midnight with a tribute screening to the late, great Wes Craven with his first (and best) Freddy offering, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and then two shorts in the form of Night of the Slasher and Fools Day. Next at 2.30am, in an original 35mm archive print, is Don Coscarelli’s cult fave Phantasm (1979) and shorts Bad Guy #2 and Point of View. The buzz is back at 4.40am as Tobe Hooper’s gory and downright unhinged sequel The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Pt. 2 (1986) gets a rare big screen outing (again in an original 35mm archive print), which will be followed by the shorts Shutterbug Man and Polaroid. Rounding off the night (and in 35mm), showing fully uncut (including that scene), is the brilliant Stuart Gordon zombie flick Reanimator (1985), to be followed by shorts in the shape of Hush and They Will All Die in Space.

If you ain’t seen these celluloid classics on the big screen with a festival crowd you ain’t really seen ‘em at all, so book tickets while you still can – more details can be found here.
