Easily one of the most seminal music videos of all time, John Landis’s Thriller wasn’t just a treat for Michael Jackson fans, it’s also a fabulous horror flick in its own right. A tribute to all things that go bump in the night, the 1983 14-minute short featured zombies crawling from their graves, a wicked werewolf transformation, Vincent Price narration and, most shocking of all, Jackson on a date with an adult woman. While readily available via the YouTubes, audiences will soon be able to see Thriller up on the big-screen for the first time, and in remastered IMAX 3D format to boot!

However, in an interesting move, tickets won’t be available for it individually, as Universal are attaching it to prints of Eli Roth’s upcoming kid-friendly horror flick, The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Whether this indicates a little trepidation on the part of the studio in regards to their confidence in Clock’s potential box-office clout is anybody’s guess. A spooky double-bill could just be a neat way of celebrating the imminent Halloween season after all. Either way, we’re in! The one caveat here is that this release strategy is currently only announced for the US, so us Brits need to keep our fingers crossed the same opportunities are afforded us over on this side of the pond.
