With Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen having debuted in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Scarlet Speedster is getting set for his own solo movie when The Flash arrives in the aftermath of Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League. And on that front, we’ve now got some information on who’s up for the female lead in the Sultan of Speed’s solo outing.

Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have word that there are three names in the frame to take on the lead female role in The Flash, with Dope’s Kiersey Clemons, Sing Street’s Lucy Boynton and 50 Shades of Grey’s Rita Ora (we’ve heard she’s also a bit of a singer…) up for the gig. Given how Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa is helming The Flash, certain logic may put Kiersey Clemons as the current frontrunner to nab the role.

As for who the female lead in the film will be, there’s no word on what character that will be. In terms of comic book Flash lore, Iris West has been Barry’s longstanding love interest and later his wife. The CW’s The Flash TV show features Candice Patton as Iris, but it remains to be seen whether we’ll get a cinematic take on Iris in the DC Extended Universe.

Ezra Miller’s Flash will be a part of Zack Snyder’s Justice League when that arrives on November 17th, 2017, with his solo movie to arrive at a later date – seemingly at some point in the first half of 2018.
