These last few days have seen Kevin Smith confirm some further returning faces for MALLRATS 2.

Taking to his Facebook page, the writer/director first revealed that badass Mall cop LaFours will be back, posting the below image along with the caption: “LaFours shows us his number of kills! SVEN-OLE THORSEN is going back to the MALL, y’all! 11 down, and NOW an updated 4 to go! Collect all 15! #MR2”

Smith then followed this up with the confirmation that Steve-Dave and Fanboy are returning, posting the below image and the caption: “TELL ‘EM, STEVE-DAVE! The character of Brodie Bruce was based on one of my oldest friends – a guy who grew up to run Jay & Silent Bob’s Secret Stash on Comic Book Men! So this RATS cast announcement (while dopy to some) is special for me… WALT FLANAGAN and BRYAN JOHNSON are fingering us because Steve-Dave and The Fanboy are going back to the MALL, y’all! 13 down, now a growing 5 to go! #MR2”

In his posts Smith again refers to how many are “to go” for MALLRATS 2, by which he means returning cast members yet to sign on. As well as Sven-Ole Thorsen, Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson, it’s already been confirmed that Jason Lee is back as Brodie Bruce, Shannen Doherty as Rene Mosier, Jeremy London as T.S. Quint, Michael Rooker will be back as Jared Svenning, Joey Lauren Adams as Gwen, Renee Humphrey as Tricia Jones, Ethan Suplee will be back as Willam, Stan Lee will be returning in some form, and then there will, of course, be an appearance from Jason Mewes and Smith himself as Jay and Silent Bob.

As for who the other returning names are, we’d have to guess that Ben Affleck’s Shannon Hamilton and Claire Forlani’s Brandi Svenning are likely, with the other possibilities being Priscilla Barnes’ Miss Ivannah or maybe even Scott Mosier’s Roddy. Hell, it could even be Brian O’Halloran’s Gill Hicks.

No release date has been given for the film as of yet, but expect to hear more on this as it develops. All of us here at Moonbase Alpha, we absolutely cannot wait to see Brodie and the gang back and on the big screen.
