Earlier this year, Thomas Haden Church teased that he’d already shot scenes for a new superhero film, and now we have some concrete details on just what that project is.

Courtesy of Discussing Film, Church will be playing Lobster Johnson in Neil Marshall’s impending Hellboy reboot. Having played Sandman in Spider-Man 3, Church returns to the world of superhero movies to play a character yet to be seen on the big screen.

The Lobster Johnson character was close to appearing in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army, but that ultimately wasn’t to be. In Hellboy mythos, Lobster is a 1930s comic book vigilante who the general public aren’t aware is a real person and a real vigilante protecting the world from the no-good Nazis and criminals out there.

With David Harbour as the titular hero, Hellboy is set for an April 12th, 2019 release.
