We hate to say we told you so, but…

As we reported in October, it looks as if the Terminator franchise is taking an indefinite hiatus. Paramount Pictures have now officially removed the next Terminator movie from their slate of upcoming movies. As you remember, last year’s Terminator Genisys was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy of films. Seemingly not.

The sequel to Terminator Genisys was initially planned for a May 19th, 2017 release, but Paramount’s new slate sees Baywatch set for that release date, with a new Terminator movie now completely removed from the schedule.

Despite ambitions of reaching $1 billion, Terminator Genisys only managed to bring in $440 million at the global box office and, as such, the future of the franchise looks as dead and as heartless as an old T-800.
