The eagerly-awaited new short from Jill Gevargizian, The Stylist will have its world premiere at Etheria Film Night. The event takes place at the legendary Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California on June 11th.

The short follows Claire (Najarra Townsend, Contracted) – a hairdresser who wants to escape her humdrum life. Her last client for the day arrives (Jennifer Plas), asking Claire to make her look perfect, but the stylist has plans of her own.

The screening will be attended by key members of the cast and crew, including director Gevargzian, lead Townsend, screenwriter Eric Havens and editor John Pata. The Etheria Film Night is a very competitive showcase for female-directed genre films. This year, they have selected only nine shorts out of over 1000 submitted.

Jill told us, “I have admired this festival for a few years and am beyond proud – and shocked – to have the film accepted. This is a dream come true”.

We have an exclusive look at the film’s poster below. The official poster was designed by Brandon Duncan of expiringsun.com and photographed by Ryan Housknecht.

Regular readers will know we’ve been following Jill’s career closely for a while, even hosting a special screening of her debut film Call Girl at Manchester’s Fab Café. The Stylist was the director’s second successful Kickstarter campaign and looks to be set for a phenomenal festival run. While The Stylist has been in post-production, she has kept herself busy by working on films such as Frankenstein Created Bikers.
