Remember that reboot of THE RING that’s on the way? Well it turns out that the film will actually be a prequel of sorts.

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that the F. Javier Gutierrez-helmed movie will be looking at the origins of “Samara’s reign of terror.” As such, the film will be set before the creation of the famed tape that tormented so many in THE RING and THE RING 2.

Whether this proves to be a good move or not, we’ll have to wait and see.

Currently titled RINGS, this next movie in the series is currently set for a November 13th release.
