Big Finish and ITV Studios Global Entertainment have announced that the cult series THE PRISONER will return on audio from January 2016. Originally starring Patrick McGoohan, THE PRISONER was broadcast in 1967 and even today is much loved by its many fans. This audio version is very much set not based on the 2009 mini-series.

This version of THE PRISONER will not just be the TV stories set to audio, but a whole new set of stories setting out the same agenda. No details are available as to casting or specific plots but fans are promised a lot of familiar iconography – how might Portmeirion be portrayed on audio? Will Rover return?

The first release will comprise four CDs plus a CD of a behind the scenes documentary and a full colour, souvenir booklet. This first boxset is being written by Nick Briggs, Big Finish Executive Producer, who will also direct proceedings. STARBURST will, of course, keep you posted on further details as they emerge.
