Excited to see what Universal has to offer with their upcoming shared monster universe? Well, you’ll have to wait just a little longer than first expected.

The studio has pushed back The Mummy, the first of their shared universe efforts, by three months. Instead of the planned March 24th, 2017 release, the film will instead hit the big screen on June 9th, 2017.

As for what we know about The Mummy so far, it’ll be a retelling of the classic horror tale, with Kingsman’s Sofia Boutella playing the titular monster. Tom Cruise will be headlining the film as he tangles with this ancient beast. Alex Kurtzman is on board to direct from a screenplay from Prometheus’ Jon Spaihts.

The current plan from Universal is for The Mummy to kick off a new shared monster universe that will also eventually feature the likes of Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Wolfman, and Van Helsing.
