This year saw Warner Brothers’ THE LEGO MOVIE prove to be a huge success with fans of all ages. A sequel has been long-confirmed, with a few other LEGO titles also on the way. Now comes word from Heat Vision that Warners are moving forward with a solo movie for THE LEGO MOVIE’s Batman, voiced by Will Arnett.

In terms of talent, it’s presumed that Arnett will be returning to lend his vocals to the Dark Knight, with THE LEGO MOVIE’s animation supervisor, Chris McKay, to direct and Seth Grahame-Smith, best known for creating ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, hired to pen the script for this Batman solo outing. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of THE LEGO MOVIE, will be on board to produce this new film alongside Roy Lee and Dan Lin, who both happen to be overseeing the NINJAGO film that’s scheduled for a September 23rd, 2016 release.

It’s presumed that this Caped Crusader-centric film will take the May 26th, 2017 release date was initially earmarked for THE LEGO MOVIE sequel, with the sequel pushed back to late 2017 or early 2018.

Expect more on this as it develops.
