Most recently recognised in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT trilogy, Michael Caine has left the art of butlery and signed onto Vin Diesel’s latest vehicle THE LAST WITCH HUNTER. His role is currently unspecified, however we think its safe to firmly assume that the lovable cockney won’t be serenading us with “Double double, toil and trouble” throughout director Breck Eisner’s project.

Good old Mark Vincent (thats Vin to you and me) stars as the titular character who’s immortality has allowed him to battle the enchantress hoard for a silly amount of years, and the main arc of the narrative is believed to take place in modern day New York City. The hero combines forces with a rogue witch (hmmm…) to stop the megalomaniacal madams from plaguing our beautiful planet. This all sounds incredibly bombastic and thrilling yet it is difficult to imagine Caine placed within this story, lets just hope the filmmakers know what they’re up against.

Its fair to say that Caine has become something of a muse for Nolan and he will crop up again for the director during INTERSTELLAR later this year. Scottish actress Rose Leslie has been given a supporting role in THE LAST WITCH HUNTER and it will be released at some point in the near future through Summit Entertainment.
