With the recent news that Marvel’s The Inhumans is finally happening – albeit as a TV series that will actually debut in IMAX cinemas – now comes word on who’ll be overseeing the project.

Marvel has moved to confirm that Scott Buck is the man tasked with serving as showrunner on Marvel’s The Inhumans, with Buck also currently acting as showrunner on Marvel’s Iron Fist. Starring Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Iron Fist will arrive on Netflix in March before the hero joins forces with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage to star in Marvel’s The Defenders.

The unique arrangement where Marvel’s The Inhumans is concerned will see the show, which will be produced by Marvel and ABC Studios, filmed entirely with IMAX cameras and get an exclusive two-week run in IMAX cinemas in September 2017 before then heading to the ABC network in the US.

As for the actual Inhumans themselves, they’re a race of superhumans created by the iconic duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in 1965. All with varying, diverse powers, The Inhumans are headed up by Black Bolt and the royal family. In more recent times, the concept of the Inhumans as a race has been introduced on the small screen in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Previously, Marvel’s The Inhumans was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movie slate before being pulled.
