The last few months has seen Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT on, off, then back on again. After the film was initially confirmed, the writer/director gave the script to certain people in a case of ‘for their eyes only.’ Thing is, the script leaked online, causing QT to throw his toys out of his pram and call the whole thing off. Then, taking a few months to chill out, The Chin confirmed that the film is still going to go ahead, albeit with some rewrites. Now comes word that this latest Western is set to start shooting early next year.
Speaking to MyFoxPhilly, Kurt Russell (shown above with Tarantino), who’s on board for the film, said, “I’ve got a Tarantino project called THE HATEFUL EIGHT that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year.” Russell, who worked with Tarantino on DEATH PROOF, will play a bounty hunter in this next QT project.
As well as Russell, THE HATEFUL EIGHT will also feature Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, James Remar, Tim Roth, Zoe Bell and Amber Tamblyn. Oh, and Russell’s partner-in-crime will be played by, of course, Samuel L. Jackson.
Expect more on this as it develops.
