First we had Winnie the Pooh turning evil and stab-happy, now it’s the Grinch. The Mean One is an upcoming feature from Atlas Film Distribution, an unofficial take on the classic Christmas story inspired by Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas – except here, the Grinch takes his hatred of the season to a new level.

Per Bloody Disgusting, Steven LaMorte’s slasher parody will release to U.S. cinemas on December 9th. Per the logline: In the unhinged new parody, The Mean One (Terrifier 2‘s David Howard Thornton) is a hairy, blood-thirsty, green-skinned grump in a Santa suit, living on a mountain high above the sleepy town of Newville. Young Cindy You-Know-Who (Krystle Martin), whose parents were butchered by The Mean One twenty Christmases prior, is returning to town to seek closure… but when the ravenous Mean One launches a new reign of terror that threatens to ruin Christmas once again, Cindy finds a bold new purpose – trapping and killing the monster.

LaMorte directs from a script by writing duo Flip and Finn Kobler, and also stars Chase Mullins, Christopher Sanders, John Bigham, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler, Rachel Winfree, Molly Flanagan, and Amy Schumacher. Check out the Grinch ‘s new look in the poster below:
