With The Flash having now returned for its fourth season in the US, it’s been revealed that a rather big-name villain will soon be causing all kinds of headaches for the Scarlet Speedster.

Speaking to CBR.com, showrunner Todd Helbing confirmed that tech-based alien Kilg%re will soon be landing in Central City to battle Barry Allen and the rest of Team Flash.

Helbing didn’t go in to too many specifics at this stage, but he did explain how bringing the “electro-mechano-organic lifeform” villain to The Flash was “a lot of fun”. There’s no word right now on when exactly this rogue will debut in the show, although he should most certainly be a major player in the series if he’s anything like his comic book counterpart.

Created for 1987’s The Flash #3, Kilg%re was initially a foe of the Wally West version of the Flash. In terms of his background, the character is depicted as an all-powerful alien being who had decimated and consumed his previous planet. Upon first landing on Earth, the twist was that only those with superspeed could actually see Kilg%re.

The Flash premieres its fourth season here in the UK on Sky1 on October 17th.
