For every IT FOLLOWS and BABADOOK, there’s a dozen remakes trying to riff on past genre glories. One of the ‘80s most spine-tingling horror, THE ENTITY is the next in line for a modern do-over.
The Hollywood Reporter have reported that the creative team behind THE CONJURING are set to remake the 1982 classic that starred Barbara Hershey in a tale of a woman sexually molested and tormented by an unseen demon. James Wan (SAW, DEAD SILENCE, THE CONJURING) will be producing alongside THE RING’s Roy Lee, while brothers Chad and Carey Hayes will be writing the script.
Given that the source material infamously claimed to tell the real life haunting of Carla Moran, we only hope they don’t opt for a found footage style. Whatever the case, we’ll bring you more as we hear it.
