With shows like BATES MOTEL, HANNIBAL and SLEEPY HOLLOW, plus the upcoming DAMIAN and SCREAM, some of the creepier, darker films out there are being transitioned to the small screen. Now we can add THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE to that list.  Deadline has word that the Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino-starrer is the latest movie to serve as inspiration for a TV show.

According to the report, NBC has ordered a pilot from the film’s producers, John Wells and Arnold Kopelson. BAG OF BONES’ Matt Verne will be penning the script. Just how much the show will stick to the premise of the movie isn’t known at this stage.

The 1997 supernatural thriller featured Reeves as an up and coming lawyer whose boss, Pacino, was the Devil. As well as Reeves and Pacino, Taylor Hackford’s film also featured Charlize Theron and Craig T. Nelson.

Expect more on this as it develops.
