Deadline is reporting that director F. Javier Gutierrez has departed the upcoming reboot of THE CROW. In a quick turnaround, Corin Hardy has already been brought in as Gutierrez’s successor. Hardy’s first feature film, THE HALLOW, will be released next year and to date he’s mainly directed short films and music videos for the likes of The Prodigy and, err, Ed Sheeran.

The reported reason for Gutierrez having to leave THE CROW is said to be down to a scheduling conflict. The conflicting movie in question is the next entry in THE RING franchise, which the director will be working on instead of the Luke Evans-starring CROW redo.

At present, THE CROW is set to move into production in spring of next year.
