Much to the surprise of many industry analysts, the live-action, Michael Bay-produced TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie triumphed over those GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY at the US box-office this weekend; this despite the former garnering some scathing reviews, and the latter still feeling nothing but the love.

And so, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 has been given the green light, with Paramount Pictures setting aside June 3rd 2016 for its release. No director has been confirmed as yet, but Michael Bay ‘will’ return as producer. 

Now since the UK release is still ten whole weeks away (betcha Paramount wished they’d had more faith in it in hindsight – just how much are they expecting to lose in illegal downloads from foreign territories now?), we have yet to check the picture out for ourselves, and can’t rightly comment on whether news of the sequel is good or bad.

While us Brits wait out the ludicrous release date, why not pick up our current issue, which is dedicated to all things Turtle and in shops now!

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is out now in the US, and hits UK cinemas on October 17th.
