It’s pretty universal that we all want a sequel to 2012’s Dredd, right? Whilst the chances of this happening are often shot down, every now and again there’s something that comes out to give us just enough hope that we may actually see Karl Urban return as Judge Joseph Dredd.

It was only a week or so ago that there were murmurs from Urban about how he’d been keen to reprise the Dredd role for a series on Netflix or Amazon, and now a little more has come out on that front.

Speaking at this past weekend’s Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo, when asked about the chances of Dredd heading to his own episodic series, Urban revealed that following his previous comments “conversations are happening”.

Is it solid confirmation of another outing for Karl Urban as Judge Dredd? Most definitely not, but it is great to know that, even if a movie follow-up to Dredd may not happen, at least there are talks happening about potentially bringing the character to an on-demand streaming service.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
