Remember how M. Night Shyamalan was working on a new Tales from the Crypt series? Well there’s now an update on that particular relaunch.

The Wrap has word that TNT has ordered a whole ten-episode series of Tales from the Crypt, which is great news if you ask us.

On this news, Shyamalan said, “I’m really thrilled about the way this horror block is coming together with the addition of Time of Death and Creatures. That such a beloved property like Tales from the Crypt is launching our evening makes it an even more unique and exciting opportunity. Across the board, the level of talent has been very inspiring.”

The horror block that M. Night Shyamalan is referring to is the upcoming horror output that the TNT network has lined up for next year. Whether Time of Death or Creatures makes it to the UK, we’ll have to wait and see, but here’s hoping that we at least get the Tales from the Crypt relaunch over on these shores at some point in 2017.

For those not familiar with Tales from the Crypt (seriously, YouTube is your friend), the property began life as a comic book way back in the 1950s before becoming a big screen feature in 1972. Of course, most people remember the infamous Crypt Keeper for HBO’s 1989 anthology series, which in itself actually spawned a kid-friendly Tales from the Crypt Keeper cartoon show.
