Whilst all eyes are on March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the DC Cinematic Universe is set for a major rogue expansion when David Ayer’s Suicide Squad arrives in August.

With a stacked roster that features some of DC’s most unique villains, Suicide Squad has now finally revealed its official synopsis.

The word on Ayer’s rogue-centric effort reads:

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated supervillains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realise they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will Suicide Squad will resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Featuring a huge ensemble cast made up of the likes of Jared Leto’s Joker, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc, and even a cameo from a certain Caped Crusader, Suicide Squad is set for an August 5th, 2016 release.
