With the Film4 FrightFest Halloween Shockathon only a week away, the opening surprise movie has been announced.

Wild and fun sci-fi homage Lazer Team – directed by Matt Hullum – will be receiving its European Premiere at the event being held at London’s Prince Charles Cinema on Saturday October 24th.

In the vein of recent festival hit Turbo Kid, the official synopsis is:

“In the 1970s, a message comes from outer space. Aliens are challenging humanity to a duel and information is on its way to explain everything. However that mysterious package still hasn’t arrived in 2015 despite the US government remaining on full alert and Earth’s ‘One True Warrior’ constantly training. When the delivery ends up in the hands of a ragtag band of idiots, complete global destruction looks inevitable…”

Other films showing on the day include The Vatican Tapes, The Unspoken, Momentum, Belly of the Bulldog, and the European Premiere of I Spit On Your Grave III: Vengeance is Mine.
